Although there was only one small gate open, which limits flow, my friend and I hit the river just after sunrise on Sunday morning. Started catching smallmouth right away, ranging from 11" - 14" , all strong, healthy looking fish.
The surprise of the day was a 17" flathead catfish that took a chartreuse/white craft fur Clouser, as I left it dangle in the current at the end of a swing.
Between the two of us, we landed about 10 smallmouth over about 3 hours of fishing - a nice morning. If you saw my post in the "what have you been tying" thread, you will see the "Home Invader" streamer. It worked in both white and white/chartreuse. I picked up some arctic fox so I could tie the one in white (I used craft fur on the chartreuse one) and I was amazed at how realistic it looked in the water.
