3 of us fished the river from the mouth of the Conoy down toward the white cliffs. We got maybe 20 or so between us. We fished buggers, clausers, and some twisters and spinners on spinning gear. Most of the bass were 7-8, a couple were 10 and one about 12. Not a great day, but nice to be out.

I've been out there a few times within the last couple weeks but on the York County side and up river a bit. My experience is about the same as yours. Seems to be a good crop of smallmouth in the 5 to 10" range. Been using Clouser's, poppers and a Clouser swimming nymph. I haven't stayed late for the white flies but yesterday I saw loads of them in the spider webs. A lot of damselflies about especially heavy two weeks ago. Loads of crayfish. Some rises and some busting on top chasing baitfish but not a whole lot.

Fishing seems to be slightly better this year than last. That's not saying a lot. Here's a picture of the hatch from last night. Was out this morning and caught 4 smallies (6-12 inch) before the wind picked up. Clouser Brown Drake size 10.
