Time Fished: 2pm - 4pm
Weather Conditions: 55 degrees, Mix of Sun & Clouds, fairly windy
Water Conditions: Very Low and Clear; 50 degrees
Insects: Didn’t see any but there were about 15-20 rises; assumed it was the Little Grannom’s that are on Oil Creek now
The section of stream I selected has changed drastically from last year. Seems to have lost a lot of holding water. I fished through a number of runs without a take. Probably fished 5 places that generally produce 2 to 10 fish each and never had a strike in any. I received all of my strikes in 1 hole. Had 6-7 strikes while swinging a woolly bugger and a grannom wet. The one fish I landed took the grannom. After seeing several rises I switched to a dry and caught one right away but then the rising stopped. It occurred when a dark cloud rolled in for good awhile, effectively turning the fish off. No strikes in the last 45 minutes despite switching back to 2 wets. Both trout I caught were rainbows.
