Clear day, very windy, around 70 degrees. I fished from 10am to 1245pm. Water temp was 52 when I started and 54 when I quit. Stream was clear with a good flow.
Grannoms covered the stream side brush but they weren't hatching, only a few on the water. If you'd get into shore and stood still you'd have 3-4 crawling on you in no time. No other insects present.
The fish ended up being very aggressive. I had 3 take my fly deep and into the gills. It's rare to kill one fish in a day while fly fishing but 3 is a new high for me. I ended up catching 9 rainbows.
