Stony Creek, Montgomery County, Norristown Farm Park 01/04/2009

I was out from noon until 3:45pm.

Water was clear, some ice forming on slow water near banks.

I saw more herons then fish. There were a few very noisy herons buzzing around.

The only fish I saw were a couple suckers in pools above where Kepner and Stony Creek join just above the dam.

I was using sucker spawn and a couple different nymphs including bead heads.

I'm not surprised to hear that you never saw a fish. The "keeper"stockies in that creek are killed quickly. The undersized fish don't last very long due to being gut hooked, treble hooked, squeezed too tightly, or choking on corn and power bait.

I hooked 6 or 7 trout on the third landing 4 of them. Still enough fish to go around. Just need to fish the correct holes.
