Was a very producing day, Caught about 7 fish. Got them all on Pheasant tails and hares ears. The brookie in the gallery took a rubber legged copper john. There were these black flies which i have in a container that im gonna get a clear good picuture of. Im not sure what they are. they kinda look like caddis flies except without the 2 antennas sticking out in the front. There is a 22in no doubt browny in the pool i was fishing, jumped halfway out a few times hitting something on the surface a few times. Most of my fish were caught from 8-12 After that the action got really dead, i had like 2-3 more strikes till 4. There were alot of suckers around. Maybe the trout were full of suckerspawn? Anyway can check out the pics here

Probably chimarra, little black caddis. A size 16 black soft hackle works well.

yep, thats what it was. There wernt many rises to start fishing the dry. so i tried this with no sucess, any ideas why? Wrong type of pupa?

That 15" brookie looks like a tiger trout.

The chimarra caddis worm is a dirty orange. A soft hackle with a black turkey tail biot body and black hackle works as the emerger, size 16 - OR -.
