Took 40 on the button, all on top. Quite a bit of work mind you. Besides putting over 10 miles on the bike, Stonys not a good wading stream up past the gate. But man were the bugs coming off. Midges, yellow caddis, sulphurs, March Browns. Oh yeah, and dont forget the mosquitos, they were hatching as well. The repellant only goes so far when they're like like that. And I was covered in ticks. My poor dog got it pretty bad, lumps all over her, but she loved it.
Saw 2 Game Wardens when I rode in, and then a Waterways Patrolman badged me around 8:00. Said I was the only one up there.
Thats always the case to get the best fishing up there, you must ride back in the dark, which can be pretty hazardous. And I wouldnt bother riding back on a weekend. Atleast not yet.

Squaretail,

What do you mean about the bad wading conditions? Also did you catch any wildies?

No wilds, but caught a couple 10" holdovers and saw one that probably pushed 15". The wading at Stony up past the gate is hard on waders. All kinds of wood in the water trying to tear holes in them, so you have to go slower than usual most of the time.
