Fished it on sunday and the action was great. Fished it today and it was super slow, only managed a couple fish in 3 hours. Only thing i got takes on were zebra midges

I think it was the weather or something. I tried the Wissahickon near Militia Hill Road and by the Phila. Cricket Club, and I was skunked. Also lost a zinger with my Fishpond tippet gauge and clippers, argghhh.

A humbling sport. Last time out I caught a memorable brown on Valley, and today I am skunked at the Wissy. Go figure.

Mute, do you mainly fish Stony by that cement wall/dam, or what? Have you tried it by the Elmwood Park Zoo or upstream a bit? I never am sure what is 'live' water.

Also, FWIW I appreciate all the reports and pics/vids you share here.

Hey sunra, i fish alot of the stream. Ive never fished down by the zoo. Starting at the dam/wall ive fished the next 6 holes going all the way up passed the high arch bridge ontop kepner creek. And also the 3 or 4 next holes up on the stony creek side to the one bridge. Also starting at the dam the farthest ive fished in the next 5 holes down to the railroad trestle. And thanks, i enjoy sharing my video and picture experiences.

Beautifully colored bow today, can you figure out which one?

Is stony fishable in the summer, or does it get warm? I've unfortunately 🙂-P) ended up in Norristown a few times lately, and would consider stopping for an hour or two some time this summer, if there are hold overs.

Stony is fishable year round but it's a little rough in the mid to late summer, or at least it has been to me.

Mute - did you catch those bows in Stony? I was unaware that they stocked bows, thought it was just brookies and browns?

HBGMarine,
I think they're talking about a different Stony Creek over in their neck of the woods rather than the one we're familiar with in Dauphin Co (I may be wrong - if so, "oops" and "sorry"). This is why it's helpful to indicate the county in the thread title.

ooooooh...jack's gonna get you for violating protocol. Maybe that pretty rainbow will be a diversion...good example though.
