I grew up fishing Stoney and try to get back there once a year if possible. I have to say that the character of the stream has changed very little since I fished it 10 or 15 years ago. I still remember many of the same holes. They have changed depth and position in some cases but for the most part, it always seems very familiar.

Started around 10 AM and fished until 2 PM. Pleasant sunny day. Forgot my bug off. Got hounded all day by horseflies and blackflies but when don't you on Stoney? I fished about half-way from the entrance of the park to the main parking area (Lower Stoney I guess...). I took 6 total (1 brown 5 brookies). Missed probably twice that. The brown took a #12 cricket in a very slow very deep run. He was the biggest of the day at maybe 12 inches. The brookies were mostly taken on #16 ot #18 beadheads. A few on Coppers and one of a GR Hares Ear. They were all 10 and under but fought like true brookies for the most part.

The stream was very low and getting warm. Glad I got to it when I did. :-D
