Stewarts Run

Sorry to chime in late here.

As far as I know Stewarts Run is RUMORED to have wild fish in it. I can show you various links that claim the stream holds wild brown and brook trout.

I have not fished Stewarts much but have a few times. I have never caught a wild fish out of it. I have talked to various people that also have never caught a wild fish out of the stream. I dont know what is going on here but I wonder if it did at one time and something has changed. Maybe land use or some other event. Either way, I have never seen a wild fish come out of it. This is what could happen when a stream IS NOT on the Natural Reproduction List and should be. I would be willing to bet land practices, water usage or some similar event have made the trout move on or die.

As far as that dirt drive you speak of, im not sure which one your talking about. I have fished to the end of the FFO section to the wire. I have even fished a little bit downstream from there but I dont know which bridge your speaking of.

I would walk down it sometime and ask permission if you see a house.
 
Don't forget Mount Joy, Mountville,Virginville, Big Beaver, Bottom, Climax, Gap, Honey, Jugtown, Lover, Moon, Peach and Sugar Notch, all PA towns. And then there's Sugar Tit South Carolina, Smelly Alabama, ****ey Junction Arkansas, Weiner Arkansas, Hygiene Colorado, Cumming Georgia, Penile Kentucky, Happy Jack Louisiana, Scaggsville Maryland, Buttzville New Jersey, and my favorite, Ding-Dong Texas.

Ohio has a bunch, too. Apparently, not to be outdone by PA, they even have their own Blue Ball and Climax.

Keeping with that theme...

Put-In-Bay is quite the tourist spot.

Then there is Sodom Ohio, which is ironically on the opposite side of Churchtown from Youngstown.

Cleaning it up a little bit... Soaptown Ohio.

I used to live in Reminderville, Ohio. What can I say, it's an easy name to remember.

There is also a Newcomerstown.

There is an Honesty Ohio as well as Liars Corner.

And the ultimate novelty name... Well, that would be Novelty Ohio. Close to Chagrin Falls.

I hear there is a Dull, Ohio, but I figure Ohio is all pretty dull. I wonder if it is anywhere near Monday Ohio.

have any of you truly been to the town of Climax in Indiana County?? It's surely not something to get hard over, nor exit your car...
 
Aparently PA has multiple Climax because there is one in Clarion County, too.
 
I've been to Climax in Indiana County. Getting the mind out of the gutter, I think "Home" in Indiana County is one of the best town names in that area.

Ok, back in the gutter. As far as Gap, gap in itself isn't that funny. Pleasant Gap is. And Virginia has an "Allison's Gap", which is even better.
 
For some reason, the name Ohiopyle always makes picture a big steamy pile. that isn't a dig on the town, just the name.

I've been to Pigs Ear.

I've exeriences Lamentation, but I didn't cry.

almost funny that you would have Lamentation and Hearts Content fairly close together.

Spent time at Lolita, but there were no young girls.

Cousin lives in Pigeon. It's near Bluejay.

Well, I've been to Indiana, California, Denver, Morgantown, Wyoming, and even Holland and Scotland. Jersey Shore too! All right here in PA, of course (actually, with the exception of Scotland and Holland, I've been to all of them out of PA as well).

And regarding your brother in Mars and sister in Venus. I do know someone who lives in Moon. He went there after he left Apollo (true story).

Well, funny true story. I had a friend in grad school from Florida. Her parents came for her Phd defense (which are open to the public). Afterwards as we all headed to the bar to celebrate, we passed one of those PENNS CAVE signs along the road. Only, the 2nd N was largely worn away, to where all that was left was one vertical line. Yes, the mother noticed the sign, misread it, spoke the name out loud and asked us if it was meant to imply what she thought it implied.

Also, as an undergrad, I had a friend with the last name FLICK. In writing, the L and the I tended to blend together.

On the 322 PSU Bypass, toward the east end is an exit sign for OLD FORT. I want to stop and use some white reflective tape to make a vertical line adjecent to the right-hand side of the second O.
 
I always get a kick out of driving thru a little town called Ribot. It's along route 305 on the drive between the little j and spring creek.

A couple times I've driven from yellow creek to the cumberland valley along a route 915 between Hopewell and the turnpike. And there's a little town along it called Jerkwater

No, it was near State College somewhere. I don't remember exactly where but it wasn't anywhere near that far south.
 
oh ok. still funny that there are two signs defaced that way. my cabin is right there near the billboard and i drive past it and smile almost every time. 🙂
 
On the subject of changing letters in Town signs, Jack's idea of changing "Old Fort" to "Old Fart" reminded me of another town right down the road......Tussyville....do the math!

No need to apologize! It's Lancaster.....the unusual names of the towns are the tip of the iceberg in weirdness that the county has to offer! :lol:
