Spruce Creek, Little J, Huntingdon Co 1-15-16

Fished the Harvery section for probably 2 hours, water levels were a little higher than normal but ideal for fishing, water was ever so slightly cloudy but very clear. Air temp hit low 40s and water was near the same. Caught two browns and lost another brown and a very large fish that I didn't quite see well enough. Fish were hitting on midges and caddis. Got there with the place to ourselves, but on our way back up stream didn't get to fish the top half, as two more cars showed up and we didn't want to move in on them. Headed to the Little J and fished for 45 minutes. Water was very high, but fairly clear. No action, but I didn't fish it very hard. More or less took my friend to see what it was like, being his first trip. Nice day out to catch some fish and spend some time outside.

I like that spot but usually only if I can hit it right before it gets light out and others haven't gotten there yet. As soon as 7 or 8 guys walk up and down it, they get spooked it seems.

Some nice browns in there but also some pretty big stocker rainbows throughout. Almost stepped on one once in some riffles and scared the life out of me....

Little j is very high as with most of the streams in the area, still had some luck yesterday, caught one brown and one bow. If you walk enough you will find slow moving current along the banks, that is where I caught those two.

Need water, little J is low, BWO's are still hatching along with midges, small nymphs work for me, some have said there having luck with sucker spawn.

Fished lj today. Pretty decent olive hatch (maybe blue quills?) early afternoon, brought some fish up. The wind was so horrendous that I could only really fish with a bobber rig. I quit around 330 when 30mph gusts started. Peeking caddis, caddis larva, sparkle pupa, pt, bwo nymph all took fish.
