Made the trip from pittsburgh because I had the day to myself and no time restrictions. I stopped at Spruce first around 10 and it was still pretty cold outside, the stream was cold and high, although a good color. No hatch activity when I arrived so started trying to actively fish streamers, but fish seemed very lethargic. As the morning progressed there was a lot of midges coming off, but no fish keying on the surface. I switched to a dead drifted bugger and bhpt and hooked up with two stocker pigs both running in the 4+ range but little fight for that size. Left around 1230 for Spring Creek.

At sprnig creek there was a TON of people and started by eating lunch and watching the stream. There was again a lot of midges, but also some BWO and some stones around. Here the fish were definitely keying on emergers and some dries. Started with a small bhpt under a adams and picked up a few on the dropper. Started taking a walk on the trail and started to see a LOT more rising fish, mostly in the slack water right along shore. Changed to a 20 olie comparadun and started picking up fish one after another until about 5 or so and then headed home. Ended being a great day even with theED higher water

Edit: Yes the 6th! I wish also the 7th

Did you mean the 6th? today is the 7th.

I was at benner springs briefly on wednesday (I think-last week is a blur). bwo hatch seemed to be a bust so I went elsewhere. Got out yesterday evening but didn't have time to make it to Spring- glad to hear the hatch was better for you.
