Fished Spruce Creek Harvey section today. The water was up and a little off color so although there were bugs coming off nothing was rising. That made it a day of nymphing. This was my first time here and I really enjoyed it. I fished various beadheads with decent results. I caught about 6 or 7 browns with a couple in the 16" range a one nice little 7" what looked like a native rainbow.

Interesting. I was there too on Sat., arrived about 11 am and fished until 330 pm. Tried soft hackles for about an hour, was getting strikes but no hook ups. Saw a rise and switched to dries. I ended up catching close to 20 fish, all on top. The first two were rainbows, the rest were all brownies. Mostly small fish, but still very entertaining.

What time were you there?

After that, I went to the Little J for the evening rise. Sulphurs were coming off well and fish were on them.

We must have been there around the same time. I got there around 10:00am and fished to around 1:30 or so. I parked at the sign and fished up from the acle. It was my first time there so not sure really how much water I covered..

Imagine that. Two people on a small wild trout stream at the same time and they both caught fish! I love the Harvey water. The last couple of years, the larger fish have been eluding me. Glad to hear there are still a few nice sized trout to catch.

pafisherman,

It was my first time too. Walking in from the parking lot, I thought that the side channel was the main stream! I soon discovered differently. Very nice, I'll be back at some point. I did see some larger specimens slash and rise, though for the most part they seemed a little more wary than the young 'uns.
