I fished Spruce from 3:30 to 5:30. The little wild browns were all over by #18 Parachute BWO. Fish ranged from 4 to 9 inches. Moved on to the Little J for the evening where I fished about a mile upstream of the town of Spruce Creek. The black ant hatch (alright, maybe its not a hatch) treated me well in the early evening. The fish may have been taking some emergers or midges too during this period. The fish quit on the terrestrials as darkness approached and I had a dry spell. Finally started getting some mayflies comming off just as it got dark. I managed to land 2 on a #12 Paracute Adams before it got too dark to see.

In hind sight I probably would have had the better evening hatch on Spruce, and I'm sure the terrestrials would have been good through the afternoon on the Little J. I had a nice time.
