Spring Creek, State College, 4/4

Fished below the benner hatchery from 12-530. Ended up with a dozen or so, most between 7 and 10 inches. Pulled out two that were pushing 20 inches, my biggest fish to date. Caught the majority on a #18 BHPT and a few on #22 BWO dun. Loved every second of it. I did not fish any farther than that first big section of riffles.

sounds like an awesome day.........the first time I fished that section was many years ago, late summer---fish were ANT crazy--it was an insane day--

I did have a great time. All of them were beautifully colored. I was on my way back to my truck and ran into a person that was in the same boat I was about a year ago. Not knowing too much and having a limited number of flies, not that I really know that much now, but I have a better clue. He was a state college student, we talked for awhile and I ended up giving him some flies (BHPT, wooly buggers, BWO, and weenies) I probably unloaded a dozen flies on him. I then watched him hook into one with a BHPT that I had tied the night before at the cabin. I was smiling ear to ear on that one. I might be heading up to the cabin again for a day or two this weekend, not sure at this point.

I love it when my friends or people whom I don't know catch a fish on a fly I tied.........good to read that I am not the only person who gives his flies away..........!!!
