Sunny, 55 degrees. I fished from 530pm to 630pm. Water temp was 48 degrees. The stream was very high and off color. No insect activity. I made one pass on my favorite stretch with a streamer to gauge the level of activity. I had one solid strike and 5 bumps. Clearly the fish were not active. It takes an hour to complete the whole circuit and then I go back and target the largest concentrations. On this day I just packed it up and drove home. Comparing notes with other fly fisherman, it sounds like the entire day was a bust.
