Time Fished: 100pm - 400pm
Weather Conditions: At 1pm it was Cloudy and 72 degrees. Rain started about 215pm and air temp dipped to 60 degrees. It was a very light rain that never stopped until after dark.
Water Conditions: 48 degrees from start to finish. Flow was heavy and it had a deep green color
Insects: Only a handful of midges, nothing else
I fished 2 areas about a 1/2 mile apart. In the first location I never had a strike. In the second location, I caught 4 rainbows on a BH Wooly Bugger using 2 split shot. Three of the fish were caught in a span of 5 casts and the 4th fish came on the next pass. The fish were caught between 230pm and 3pm.
When I drove to camp after fishing, I checked the water temp of 5 streams and they were all either 48 or 49 degrees. Other anglers reported the occasional fish was being picked up at these other locations despite the low temp but not many.
As a bonus, had a Bald Eagle cruise over the middle of the creek
