Fished 10-4
Cloudy conditions till about 1pm temps in high thirties rising to low 50’s with clear skies in the afternoon. One water reading of 40 degrees at 10am.
Water was bankful but the warm temps didn’t melt enough snow to appear to be a detriment.
Some midges both dark and ginger about size 20 but no surface activity.
Nymphed for 2 hours - foul hooked sucker. Switched to streamers and within minutes I was into fish.
Landed 3 , 10-15 inches and missed one more.
Fished 2-3 different areas on Spring. Not many guys until noon or so.
Decent amount of guys in afternoon , I didn’t see anyone else catch a fish.
I got my license checked by a WCO for the first time ever at spring- showed him my wild trout permit. ( that probably gave me the luck of catching were other were not catching )
Slow day but not a surprise.
Hopefully there will still be decent fishing this week with the warmer weather and rain and snowmelt.
