Started fishing at noon on Wednesday. First left turn off of Buffalo Run Road. Extremely windy. Very strong gusts. White caps on the creek. Landed five on #14 Frenchie and #14 Pink SS. Caught two big suckers, one was so big I had to measure it. It was just under 23". Quit at 6:00. When I took my waders off my right foot was wet. Today started at Benner area at 9:00. Tight line nymphed from about 150' below the bridge below the hatchery all the way down to the start of that long flat pool. Very slow. Only took one 10" brown on a #16 BH Hares Ear.
Walked down to the slow pool and saw fish rising. Put on a piece of 5X and 3' of 6X and a #18 Baetis. Guy sbove me was in the head of the pool where there still riffles. He smoked them. Maybe he landed over a dozen. Me not so good. The fish in the flat water rose sporadically. Landed just four. Saw a couple good rises that should of been at least 12" trout. Also saw a spattering of Grannoms. Guy above me was down where Spring empties onto BEC and he said there were tons of Granoms and dozens of rising fish. Nicer day until about 3:00 when the wind picked up and it got cooler.
