Quick Report:

Fished Spring Creek this afternoon from 2 to 4 and tonight from 5:30 to 8:30.

Water was in good shape, perhaps low for this time of year but good flow. Weather was great, mid 60s, more sun than clouds.

Fished only drys. Sulphurs, size 14. Saw a few Caddis, but fish were keyed on sulphurs, especially from about 6pm to 7:30pm. Caught a few in the afternoon, but they were rising very well in the evening for a little over an hour.

After 7:30, fishing seemed to slow -- maybe it was just the stretch I was on -- but the bug activity was constant though the evening.

All in all, great fishing. Quality fish.

I fished in the Canyon on this day. It was a little tougher sledding from about 4PM to 7PM, and only managed 3 and had to work them for awhile to fool them. I then caught 3 more in the last half hour of daylight. I caught a dozen the night before so I'm guessing either the water was fished over, or the bright sunlight was keeping the fish wary.

All on Size 16 Sulpur comparadun patterns.

When I was having trouble early on, a guy walked by and when telling him it was tough sledding, he was nice(?) enough to tell me he caught 24 trout and to keep trying. i guess that motivated me...
