I fished Spring Creek behind the water treatment plant in Bellefonte. I fished from around 12PM to 3PM. I did well euro nymphing. Caught most of my fish on an olive nymph. I saw some tan caddis on the water, with the occasional splashy rise to them.
Even though the water level is statistically quite low, I though that the flow was good for nymphing. At normal flows, this section would be difficult to wade for some people. There was more people there than what I though there would be. When I took a break to eat lunch around 1PM, there was five cars in the small parking area.
I ended up catching my best ever Spring Creek Brown right in the whole that runs along the wall right near where you enter the creek. It was a 15 inch beaut. It fought real hard, and I had a hard time bringing the fish to the surface. At the end I ended up catching 7 or 8 brownies. Most of the fish were holding along the far bank in spots were there are bushes growing at the base of the stone bank.
