Stopped at Spring in the Benner hatchery area on my way back from Erie to break up the 5 hour drive. Arrived around 1:30 and fished to 4:30. Lots of people there when I arrived but they started to thin out around 230 or so. Did not make it any further than the first section of flat water below the bridge. Took a lot of fly changing to start picking up fish. Finally tied on a 20 or 22 red midge larvae and ended up landing 6 or so brownies.
There were some midges and BWO's coming off and bringing fish to the surface occasionally, but the rainshowers every half hour or so stopped them from getting in full swing.
