Fished Satuday and Sunday at Spring Creek, 1:30-5:00, water temperature in the mid 40s both days. Saturday fished with my father, he started with a scud/ pheasant tail tandem, I started with a zonker. Had a few follows on the zonker, but no takers, my father caught one on the scud. After he left, I saw one splashy rise, and then another, and then noticed a few fish very sporadically rising in the backwash of the pool I was in, and low and behold, some blue winged olives were on the water. Switched over, caught one on the surface, and missed a few, but glad to see the hatch finally getting underway.
Sunday, came back to the same spot, sure enough, as it warmed up a bit, and stayed overcast, had a few fish dimpling on the surface, and a few splashy rises. Managed to catch four on the olive, and missed several.
Also got to test out my GoPro for the first time fly fishing, making a video tonight.
