Spring Creek, Centre County, 12/26/2014

Hit Spring from about noon till 4PM. Saw only one rise all day. Fished Benner Springs area downstream from the new parking lot. Caught 4 trout on a green weenie. The trout we mixed in with the many suckers in the deeper holes. Fished slow and on the bottom. The weather was great and thus the fisherman were plentiful, but still got to fish all spots I usually fish in that section.

I fished lower Spring on 12/26. You would have thought it was opening day with all of the anglers lined up just below Talleyrand Park. I managed two rainbows and a brown on a #14 Hotwire Caddis fished slow and deep under an indicator. Had a few misses as well. Even though it was 50 degrees, my neoprenes have two leaks that left my feet numb after two hours. Still good to get out before a drastic drop in temperatures.
