First went to Hemlock Acres to check on my cabin and finally get my propane heater going...
Headed to Benner Springs about 1pm. First time there in a while, the old bridge is sitting in the parking lot and a new bridge made out of pressure treated is in its place.
Water flow was healthy compared to so many times last year with low flows. Great fishing level. Air temp was high 50s, misplaced my therm, so no water temp. My plan was to start with a streamer then change over to some nymphing, but never made the switch?
Brought 3 in, had a couple other on but lost them, one was a decent rainbow, and probably had 6-8 other good hits but couldn't hook up.
Saw a few lone midges here and there, and saw one trout in some shallow flat water gulp a couple things off the water, but other than that, it was an underwater game.
It felt great to be out.
