My brother traveled up to Spring Creek for the day yesterday. Water was flowing 115 cfs air temperature around 45 degrees. They reported many cars in the new Benner Springs parking lot. They hiked down and fished the newly opened water with limited success. They did not see many BWO's either. Decided to fish below the Paradise after that and hooked into some decent fish on nymphs. I started at Paradise today using midge pupae of different colors. Landed ALOT while battling the heavy winds. I notice many of the fish were on the banks. A slow methodical approach was rewarding. Around 2 olives showed up in a section I was fishing. Olives a few on dries and decided to walk to my favorite run. Made it to the run around 3:30 to see slashing rises. I proceeded to land over 2 dozen on a size 14 dry olive after 1.5 hrs. I noticed that certain runs had the olives coming off. The runs had one thing in common, the riffles were long (upstream / downstream).

Anybody happen to take a water temp? I am planning on heading up in 2 weeks to visit some of my old haunts when I was a student. Really promising reports!

Nope. Not many olives coming off today. Not many fisherman either.

SOOOO many people yesterday. Got a few on olives but over all fishing was slow.

I'll be so busy this spring looking for a job after I graduate here in the beginning of May. I don't get out like I used to anymore!
