Spring Creek, Center Co., 8-29-15

Fished Spring Creek on Friday and Saturday afternoon. Did great both days on dries. I used an orange fire ant with white hackle which seemed to work very well. Fished at Benner Spring. Did switch it up a bit and had to go subsurface during the afternoon hours, but plenty of risers once the sun went behind the hills. Water clarity was clear and decent flow. Had to be methodical on moving from pool to pool so as to not spook fish. A few guys out but plenty of room to fish. Lots of fun getting the fish on top. small caddis flies hatching during most of the day.

Fished there Friday las well, late afternoon, about 4-6 pm at Benner and managed 2 nice browns on a size 20 Zebra Midge, silver bead head. The sun was "still over the hill," and not a lot of risers. Short line and no line nymphing inthe deeper runs was the ticket.

I'm headed there tomorrow, I always do well on ants there and plan to use them tomorrow...
