Any one been to either in the last week or two. Wondering about flow and fishablity going to a buddies camp this weekend and was going to take my stuff and give it a try. Also what fly patterns would you recommend never fish either in years.

There very well may be a spring creek in every county in pennsylvania.

spring creek near marienville ?

Further north...like rt 6...actually between the towns of Spring Creek and West Spring Creek...

yes gambler thats the one. any info about either one would be good. Its not far from my buddies camp so i will just go check it out. FIshed there a couple of years ago on opening day pretty much put and take stockies. BUt should be some hold over fish.

I have a Higbees on the wall behind me...comes in handy. I would encourage you to do that...

I've fished Spring a few times, never at this time of year though. I don't know a whole lot about it, other than it is stocked, and it does have some wild browns.

If there is any open water to speak of in that general neck of the woods, the Spring Creek watershed is probably more likely than most to have it. The entire upper half of the watershed is all swamp/swale rich in spring seeps and the upper portion of the main stem as well as the stream we used to call Whitney Run (might also be called the NW Branch or some such) and the East Br. are a lot more likely to be running open than most area trout streams. Back in the mid to late 80's, Whitney Run just missed going Class A for a couple of samplings. then, for reasons i don't know, it fell off again.

Most of it is one hell of an alder tangle though..
