Finally got to fish the Canyon section for the first time on Spring Cr on Sunday. My thoughts before I fished it were to avoid the crowds for awile since it just opened up but I thought what the heck. Got there around 1:00pm and fished it till 5:30pm. Lots of cars parked all over the parking area's. Was very surprised that only a few guys fishing everyone else was walking the trail. So don't let all the parked cars fool you. Weather was around 62 degrees, water temp 56 and the flow was just up a little but clear. Few caddis's and BYO on the water. Fished from the new parking to the caynon bridge. Quite a few fish were landed, fish pretty much ranged in the 10 to 11inch range, but landed a few 12 to 14 inches. Did'nt see any fish on the redds yet. All fish were taken on wet flies. Looking forward to fishing this stretch again.

Sounds like a fun excursion. If it's not a secret, what kind of wet flies were you using?

No Secrets here its just fishing!!!!!! Landed most of my fish on a tan caddis wet and a few taken on BYO wet.

Take what he says to the bank when it comes to wet fly fishing. I was up in Altoona a few weeks back and met up with Dave to fish Little J. Having never fished wets he was extremely helpful and I learned a lot - thanks again for taking the time Dave!
