Myself and Ratherbefishin took a trip up to Spring Creek on wednesday. The weather was not really ideal in the morning with windy conditions and upper 30 degree to mid 40 degree temperatures . We started out nymphing in a section below paradise. Each of us picked up a couple using PT and BWO olive tandem rigs.
At about 01:30 pm, things really turned on as the BWO began pouring off the water. It was a little difficult with so many naturals on the water, but each long drag free drift usually produced a strike. The dry fly action remain steady for about three hours, and the majority of fish were taken on size 18 BWO parachutes.
We finished the day at Benner using the tandem rigged nymphs and we both took a couple more. It turned out to be another great day on a great stream.
