Fished for a few hours in the afternoon. WT = 42F. Nothing really hatching. Saw one black stonefly. Caught one brown, one bow and rolled one. All on a Picket Pin.

Hey, I know this thread is old but what section were you fishing. I live between. seven and eight mile on the trail. I Have been fishing this part for years now with live bait and spinners. I catch some decent fish. This year I'm learning to fly fish mostly on the s branch. Do you have any recommendations on techniques and flies to use? thanks

Check your Summary Booklet of fishing regulations. It describes the section of the South Branch that is open to year around fishing. It is stocked inseason only by the PFBC and the Isaak Walton League, but has a fair wild brown trout population as well.
