Slippery Rock Creek FFO (4/8/12)

Went up to do some FFing on slippery rock creek. I went by the by the bridge down from the heinz camp. I couldnt stay to long cause i had the family with me. Water was perfect color and height. I've never seen it so low in the spring. I think they just stocked the FFO like a week ago. I Fished for about 45 min around the bridge. I had 5 takes on an olive green BH Bugger. i missed a nice brown, around 16 inches. Other guys where using nymphs and not getting much. If anyone was thinking about going up there i'd try and do it before it rains! it's perfect up there now!

Man I was going to fish that Saturday too, instead I went to that little trickle that flows in near there and got skunked. Oh well.

I've never fished it, but from several sources it has an appropriate name...

I swung by the other one on Easter and didn't even bother fishing it. It was pretty low and clear. From past experiences I knew that I was just going to waste my time. So I went on a short little drive over to the Yough and Meadow. Fishing there was better for me the week before.

I know I was just screwing around. It seemed even longer than that. The amount of near dead grandparents going to Easter dinners was incredible on Rt 119. In the construction zone one of them was doing 15mph. Come on the cattle chute isn't that skinny. This afternoon I may go to the FFO section on SR and check out HR while I am there.

it will probably be pretty dry. we have gotten some rain, but not enough to make a dent.
at this rate the white flies will be coming off in late june!

I'm a grandparent. And I enjoyed a nice easter dinner at my mother-in-laws.
I can also assure you that we both still have plenty of life in us yet

DryFlyGuy- I've met you, your not near dead though. We all know which Gomers I was refering to. When I'm driving on a scenic back road I enjoy slowing it down and taking it in, but I wouldn't exactly call 119 north of Connelsville scenic. To me that section of road is for commuting.
