With the real nice weather last Wednesday, everything exploded. I was able to get a ton of fish using dries.

I'll let him answer for himself, but I would always cast to cruising fish from the dam. From the looks of his pictures, he was doing the same. Generic dries, terrestrials, and attractor dries get them on top. Buggers, leeches, and nymphs work under water.

The one day when it was warm, I targeted the hatch because they were feeding heavily on top.
The other days I went there, I've been successful with Wooly Buggers and streamers. I pulled a couple of real nice big old brown trout (C&R of course). I've pretty much got them all along the dam. I know I've seen people wading at the far end. I have not tried that, but I will someday when I have more time. You can pretty much catch them all around the lake, but some spot of tricky for fly fishing.
Yes, this is in French Creek and you do not need to camp. It's approved trout waters and I know there are small mouth bass in there as well. I think the state record was pulled from there.
I believe they are stocking in a few weeks. I know the lake will freeze over, so get there before that happens.
Hopewell lake, which is very close by, has bass and pike I believe. I have not fished that yet.

Yeah, the state record was caught there. It was disputed because there was no evidence of a smb population. I think they electrofished it to prove they were there before the record was made official. There are also pickerel, lmb, and a few other species in there.
Hopewell lake is good for lmb, pike, perch, crappies, and a few others.
Scott's run freezes pretty early since the water is cold, but there is usually some open water along the south side (I think it's south) where the boat ramp is. I don't know that you'd be able to fly cast that too well though.
If you go to scott's look for a calm day. The wind gets ridiculous.

Yes, the wind there gets really bad, but if it stays calm the fishing can be great. There are small mouth there, but I have never caught one over 12" from that lake. I used to live 10mins from the park and fished both lakes 4-5 times a week. If anyone has any questions as to spots to try or patterns to throw...just PM me and I will divulge a few secrets!
