I fished up from Cressona for a few hours in the morning. Mostly cloudy and 65 degrees with little wind. Didn’t check the water temp but it was cold and slightly cloudy. The water level was about 3.5’ on the Landingville gauge which was about 6 inches higher than the last time I fished this area two years ago. The higher flow made for some tricky wading. The rocks there are slippery and a wading staff was necessary for me.

Saw a few tan caddis in the air and the familiar smell of sewerage was ever present. No surface activity to speak of. Hooked into one small brown and had a couple of long-line releases on nymphs. Tried a couple of heavy weighted buggers to get down into the deeper holes but no luck.

Didn’t see anyone else on the stream. I’ll be back once the level comes down a bit.

I can agree on the wading during my recent trip.
