Well it has been over 5 years since I have been on here but I figured it was time to come back. My wife and I recently moved to Schuylkill county near Frackville . We take a number of trips a year to the Slate Run Cedar Run area of Pine Creek and A few to Roscoe or Deposit NY. I am just looking for more local waters for after work or quick weekend trips. I am not looking for anyone's secret locations just looking to see where I can get my wife and grandkids on some fish locally. Thanks for any help.

Dear REDNECK_FLYFISHER,

You're actually in a pretty good spot if you don't mind driving 45 minutes or so. The Lehigh River around White Haven is right up 81 and east on I-80. There are other streams in and around Hickory Run State Park to explore too. The Susquehanna River in Sunbury is a straight shot on Rte 61 if you want to fish for bass. Within a similar distance is Fishing Creek near Bloomsburg. Locust Lake and Tuscarora State Parks are even closer.

Have fun exploring!

Regards,

Tim Murphy 🙂

If you don't mind small, there are more than few on the Class A List in your backyard "wit a couple, two, tree cricks you might drive past on the way to da Coney. 😉

Thanks for all the suggestions. It looks like I am going to be busy searching a lot of new waters. I always say that I love catching trout but catching in New waters is always more gratifying. Maybe I will run into a few of you guys on the stream this year.
