Nice looking fish. How was the algae in the Savage? Also, is there primitive camping right there near the dam?

Yes there is camping there and also above the reservoir along the feeder steams. I love those sites. Cheap, somewhat remote and good fishing nearby.

There was algae almost everywhere but very manageable. Be careful and dress accordingly for ticks. I would recommend staying in the river. Use waders with studs or cleats and wading staff with a metal point. Rubber soles only since felt is outlawed in MD. The wading is tough but take your time. I stopped in the local Orvis shop and learned fishing the fast water high sticking caddis appears to be the ticket right now. Saw many sulfurs and slate drakes coming off the water. The trout were chasing them at times.

Good Luck
