Time Fished: 0800 am- 0300 pm

Weather: Mostly sunny with temps in the upper 60s. There was a pretty stiff breeze from time to time, which was a bit of a pain.

Water: Cold, I did not get a stream temp, but I would guess it was right around 40 degrees. The flow was 119 CFS, which is not bad, but still pretty strong on the Savage. The water was moderately stained, but not muddy.

Hatches: Black and Brown Stones Size 14-18, Midges Size 20-30, I saw a couple olives or blue quills size 18, but it was literally 2-3 all day, so no real hatch.

Results:
A good day on my favorite stream. I had to work for them, but it was steady pick using deep tandem rigged nymphs. For some stupid reason, the wacky worm was the ticket for the brown trout today. I took a very nice Native on a red midge pattern as well. Glad I took the day before the cold arrives.

Nice report. I did the same thing the other day, going out when I could ahead of the weather next week.
