Fished "the Saucon" from 8:30 -3. This was the first time I've fished it in about three or four years. Fished from the steel bridge to the start of the park and caught nothing. It's very fustrating fishing incredible water and not catching fish (maybe I'm not as good as I thought). Walked upstrem to the horse ranch and missed one on a BHPT. Before I left ended up landing one 10" on an Al's Rat below the steel bridge. BWO were out and the fish were rising ocassionally. Does anyone have any good tips for this stream. I want to go back, but I'm not sure my 1.5 hour drive is worth one fish. Water was crystal clear and water temp was about 40-42 degrees.

I was there on Saturday from about 2-6PM. Caught a few nice ones. Need to fish small flies. Some were on a size 20 midge larva, some on a size 20 olive PT, and the I got three pushin 14" on a size 24 Griffith's Gnat. All the fish were in the Saucon Park stretch. I will try to post a pic, couldn't figure it out for this message.

its been awhile since i fished there. i had a really good day back then landing ten fish. what i found was you had to fish the whole stream. covering every riffle and pool. also go in the winter on colder days. in the summer the park gets alot of kids,dogs,swimmers and people enjoying the park. unfortunatly colder means less active fish. i got mine on buggers and copper johns that day. its a good stream and the park makes it a joy to fish. it is tough though. still worth trying. if you dont think it is worth the drive you could hit this stream and the monocacy in the same day. both are tough but two streams are better than one!
