Fished the Saucon, I mean Saucon Creek, yesterday from 8:15-8:45 pm. I got out late but I figured I could see how the sulphurs are coming and maybe stick a fish.
The little sulphurs had started, they looked smaller than I usually see...almost pushing size 20, but I wasn't able to grab any. The water is still flowing faster than normal, which is good for the hole I went to. The rains this year had dug out the stream and bank also. It was noticably deeper than last year.
No rising fish, but I didn't expect that, this is a pretty much a nymph spot. There is a nice flat above the riffle that looks prime for dries but i haven't been during a good hatch, nothing rising there this time either.
I went with small PTs and needed a good bit of weight to get them down. I lost one, I think because I was a hasty tryin to rush before dark. Landed one after, a nice brown. This hole has never given me a small fish but it's all or none...2-3 nicer fish (some have been up 15") or nothing.
