I fish in Saucon Park this afternoon. When I got there it was partly sunny, but it became cloudy and chilly by 1:00. There were plenty of Baetis hatching but very few fish rising. With the number of flies just floating on the surface, I thought that there would be more surface activity. I focused of fishing nymphs deep the entire afternoon. I tried olive, midge and scud nymph patterns. I managed to hook three on the scud, but only landed one. All fish were hooked in slower deeper tail outs of riffles. The fish still seem to be waking up from the winter.
