Decided to try out the new fly rod today and took a ride to Saucon Creek. Water temperature was about 44, but I suspect the snow melting put a damper on the bite. Fished from 1pm until 5pm but did not see or have one fish on. Tried casting some small olives, fished nymphs and stripped a few buggers. I was fishing at the I 78 bridge. It was my first time fishing here. Hopefully I will do better on my next trip.

Albud, try the delayed harvest area. You can get to get through town.

I could drive there easily, but don't know the road names. Look on a map you will figure it out. Nice water there. Lots of bugs later in the season. Fish there a good bit in March and April.

Well I was in Saucon Park, in the middle of the trophy trout water. Didn't realize there is a delayed harvest on Saucon. Where is it?

@Albud1962...Was this just a mission to try new water? I ask because you are from Mechanicsburg. Not to bash the Saucon or its followers, but you have MUCH BETTER options closer to home. I won't list them here, but feel free to PM me if you wish. I am not new to this forum by any means. I had to retire "Dances_With_Brookies" as a result of not being able to access my account.

Holy crap. Dances I sent you a pm so long ago but now I know why you never responded check your pm.

Caught my first Saucon trout yesterday but in the ATW section.Funny how that works sometimes. Nice size and good colors.
