Fished the Saucon this morning from 630 till about 9. Stream is low, but def. fishable, and the water is plently cold. Took trout on Mike Hecks simple shrimp and trico nymphs. The biggest trout were taking the scuds, including the brook trout below. When I left around 9 tricos were in the air in pretty good numbers, but were still high in the air. Not sure but I think i saw two trout paired up, seems a little early for spawning, but you never know.
Met a couple guys that were embarking on there first ever fly fishing trip. I set them up with a few flies and a couple pointers hoping they would get there first trout on one of my ties. Tough conditions for a new fly fisher though. Hopefully they found some success. Tight lines everyone.
