Saucon Creek at Saucon Park, Northampton County, 2/5/2012

Weather was very nice, sunny, with the high 44F; water temperature 46F, very clear and moderate flow.
Nothing, not even a hit. 2 guys reported getting a couple on dry midge and blue olive patterns, earlier in the day (fish were active for just a half hour earlier, I got there around 12). Another guy got a couple on nymphs (not sure what kind, second hand report). There were blue wing olive and midge hatches going on when I arrived and lasted for a couple hours at least. Very nice blue olive hatch, too bad the fish were not interested... didn't see any rise or flash in the water.

It's nice to hear the olives are out. I saw a few on another stream on friday.

The fish don't usually get on the olives until later in the month. Last year they didn't get on them until March. Be interested in seeing how people did today.

Fish were sporadically rising on the LL Saturday. It was very hard to see but you could hear them. No olives seen in flight I'd say give it 2 weeks.

LL. they were rising in a few spots on the LL on Sunday. I observed a fair number of larger BWOs but the trouts weren't on them yet.

I did some scouting around the LV yesterday...didn't see too many olives but it was after 3pm

I was there on Sunday and saw some fish rising around 1pm. Only fish I saw hooked was on a small midge pattern.

I was at the Saucon on 2/5 as well. Was there from 1:00 till 3:00 There were many midges to be seen, but the fish weren't cooperating. I was surprised by a 4" wild brown when I was about to leave. I also foul hooked a large bugle mouth on my last cast and then I had to go. The brownie took an Al's rat.
