Nice to hear something from the Saucon. I and another young chap initiated the aborted Saucon chapter of TU. I fished it the most of all the streams when I lived in Bethlehem, and it's one of 5 reasons I didn't finish my PhD in chemistry at Lehigh. I envisions so much more for the Saucon as it was a GREAT stream to begin with and had so much park land. If things were different, I would have worked to get some major, serious, BIG in-stream work done. I see what has been done over the past 8 or so years on Spring Creek , and I think Saucon with that work would be a banner stream, crowded with the Lads from Philly and NJ. I used to work at the Welco (then Praxair) plant and take my lunch from Wendy's along the Silvex road bridge. I now live 5 1/2 hours away and can't imagine when I'd ever get back.

That's a pretty good norm for the Saucon. Any fish I catch on that stream always feels like a trophy to me. Just cirious, how frequent were the risers? Drove up from Philly 3 times already between October and november to see if I could catch a good BWO hatch, but every time things were much slower than expected. Lots of duns/spinners but very sporadic risers, even in spots where I would normally see a feeding frenzy with that much food on the surface. I blamed it on the low water. Good to hear fish were active!

Incredible stream. By far my favorite LV body of water. I could have never finished a Ph.D at Lehigh -- or maybe even at Penn for that matter. Glad I already had one in hand when I moved to Philly.

I have been seeing many redds in the Saucon these past few weeks. I have seen activity on one or two last week. So most of October and much of the early part of this month the fish must have been occupied with more than chasing blue winged olives. Please avoid the redds. I know that I don't need to remind this group. It's just a habit.
