335 to 750 cfs are for me optimal levels. The 1150 release combined with runoff ( 750 = 1 gate release) pushed the river to 1400 to 1600 cubic feet per second. If you aren't careful at these levels you are asking for trouble. While I was there 2 different fishermen, including a 13 year old, were pulled out of the little black hole, at the upper end of the DSR, after falling in at the town pool, which is at least 1/2 mile upriver. The youngster suffered mild hypothermia, the older guy, who my buddy help pull out and resusitate, was in bad shape initially, doing fine now. His waders were filled with water, he was very lucky. These levels are certainly fishable, bring trout in and spread them out. Just don't take any needless or foolish chances.
