A buddy and I fished Ridley from 10:30 AM to about 1:30 PM yesterday. I always like to fish it one more time before the end of February when all the SEPA special regs creeks get new fish. There were at least three other guys out when we left. There are plenty of fish left, and some of the bows looks fantastic, almost too nice for October fish, so maybe a few made through the summer, despite the conditions.
Water temp in the sandy shallows was 37 degrees, and the creek was stained with snow melt. Some midges coming off, but nothing reacting on the surface by the time we left. Fish were actively midging in a few deep holes, along with the chubs and suckers. Zebra midge won the day, but a couple hit size 20 pt or hare's ear we were using to get the midges down quickly. I think we release close 10 or 11 in three hours, the biggest about 14 inches. Snow made for some nice pics too.
