Fished a couple hours or so starting around 5:30 in the open water. No bugs or risers except a couple caddis. Water was clear and 60; decent flow. Probably my least productive outing of the season, but I was fishing with a friend and we walked a quite a ways. Anyway, I wasn't catching in places where I knew there was fish, but sometimes it's like that. I did manage to hook three and landed a nice brown and a real fat brookie the was colored up nicely for a stocked fish. I promptly placed my bud in the same spot since he was skunked and he caught another brook trout, his first ever. Didn't see another angler, so it was a nice peaceful eve. and we got some good exercise too.

Ever go up past the Plantation ? Nice looking water in some spots up that way.

I've fished all the way into the golf course, though we didn't make it that far last night. There are a few good runs, plus a lot of marginal water that looks good but generally doesn't produce trout. Just don't try to walk through the plantation with your fly gear; they are snooty about that. I was calmly discussing it with a worker there, once; and she called the park ranger on me. He was cool about it but I didn't repeat that mistake.

Fished upstream just short of the plantation this morning and got a handful of brookies on nymphs. Water was running slightly high and off color but I dont expect that will last another day. This was the first time ive fished this stretch and I was suprised at the quality (appearance) of some of the sections, I'll definitely try this section again in the next few weeks. After a quick bite to eat, I walked downstream into the park to another section I have not fished yet. Fishing was same with brookies taking nymphs and a nice brown thrown in for measure. All fish came from faster runs and was an overall good day on the creek. Nice to see delco anglers' efforts to stock brook trout is paying off....hopefully the water stays cool enough to let them grow a few more years
