New strain or am I as gullible as the guy telling me? Mouth seems to have similarities. They look real blue/green in the water. Then real silvery out of it.

Dear mute,

Stocker pig likely bought from an out of state hatchery to compensate for budgetary constraints by the Fish Commission.

It's a dandy fish, but I sincerely hope you kept it!

Regards,

Tim Murphy 🙂

Gullible would be the name. Your guy easily fell in the so called farming game of the market. Nice rainbow 😉

Never know but there are blue trout out there. Can always get into one of them without knowing.

To be clear. Its obviously a hatchery bred fish. But seems to be specifically altered purposely somehow to give it the blue\green back and all white properties, which was my intent of the posting.

It’s obviously an interspecies Lady Luck evolution event. The genes for determining the fish phenotype expressed are actually contained in the genotype of the human who has selected for those traits.

It’s a change based on the beauty finding genes in the eye/preference of the beholder. It’s a hatchery employee deciding who is pretty and actively selecting for these particular traits that causes it. So it is kinda like a new strain. A new strain of human. The far reach from his DNA has caused the fish you catch to change color.

It’s no longer the female reproductive preference from within the species but rather the external pressure from the fish culturist choices. Mate phenotypes selected for, are no longer decided by the lady rainbows within the species. This is the true cause……… The fact that the lady has been removed from the selection decision, evolutionarily speaking, when it comes to deciding who gets lucky.

Different species no? Like how browns and bows cant spawn.

Not naturally but it may happen. Humans continue to fiddle.

This is not what that fish is but the Norwegians have hybridized Oncorhynchus and Salmo. This picture is a Pink-Atlantic hybrid.

Lol a pinlantic... so would it live a 4 year cycle then die like ALL pacific salmon do. Or does it not like atlantics lol lol. Wth are we doin. This isnt good...leave nature alone
