Im sure that some of you know that my goals last week were to catch a native brook trout and a brown trout. I manged to catch several brookies but no browns. I have a work meeting in Cranberry on 6/10.
Can anyone point me in the right direction in that area? Is there anywhere in that area? I would be willing to drive an hour farther if needed. I appreciate any help I receive!
Thanks Friends,
Ron

McConnells Mill State Park is nearby. Pretty nice stream but mostly stocked trout. I believe there’s a Class A stream flowing into it though. Haven’t had a chance to fish there yet, but it’s quite scenic.

There's 2 cranberry areas ,which one ,1 is closer to Pittsburgh the other is up near I 80 ,

Closest stocked stream to you will be Pine Creek. I've never fished it so no further input there.

Neshannok creek is another stocked stream not too far. I've fished that one and caught browns and rainbows. Nice creek in a nice setting.

Slippery rock creek is another option in that area.

If you haven't used the PFBC maps to research streams here is the link. It's an invaluable resource: https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/a17ef48d01904cb8ac1925849434a186

I sent you a PM as well.

Don’t sweat it and just go wet a line. Eventually you will catch one.

I almost forgot This Friday the Heath twp sportsman club will be stocking the Clarion right in front of here hatchery and about 3/4 of a mile downstream to Millstone Creek below the bell town bridge, they put in almost a 1000,fish,a hundred which are 5,-10 lbs,,they do his every Friday before memorial day, great opportunity for you to catch a brownie albeit a stocked one, fishing will be good there for roughly 3 weeks, I got my Clarion river fever fishing there about 6 yrs ago,if you need better details PM ME
