Purists run for your safe space--

Well, before becoming too offended consider that some (many?) of your fly angling brethren quite like the stocked C&R FFO areas and represent, on avg, 70% of the anglers in the DHALO Areas, which receive the highest or close to the highest angler use of any stream section classification in Pa.

Next year they are putting air tags in the trouts and for the low low price of $99.99
( the supper special trout license fee) they will give you the code to track them .
 
I must be losing it. I have no idea how these are organized. Some pages have only a few entries. Others a lot. It looks like Hammer is divided into 4 stretches? Why? The early stocking are not on the first page like the others. Middle Creek (just as long has 1 stretch) Is it me?
 
Only 1 in-season stocking for Middle. 2 for the Little Cocalico?? Does the Fish Commission recognize that Middle gets stocked by Lititz Sportsman and that's why it doesn't stock the lower end? They stock Hammer too. I also noticed that the property on corner of Lincoln and Middle Creek Road is now posted. That is one of the Sportsman's clubs big dumping ground. They must be sick about that.

🤣 My safe space now is a headwater somewhere in SGL 057 but growing up in NEPA (Pittston) during my formative trout fishing years, it was all about the stocking schedule, an ultra light spinning rod, and something with a treble hook.

I'm not sorry and I'm not ashamed to admit that.

I think that was probably the case for the majority of us. When I was kid, trout fishing meant chasing stockies with a spinning rod and either some wax worms, corn, worms, or the best trout lure - the Acme Kastmaster. I bet many of us owe our devotion, and ultimately our knowledge and appreciation of wild trout, to our stockie chasing roots. It just is what it is.

I don't come from a fishing family, and I am the only one who ever did it or really cared about it. I've mentored a few younger people, and I always try to teach them about wild trout and their importance. It's something I never had.

Absolutely! You described my introduction to trout fishing perfectly. Despite being a wild trout snob now, I still cherish those early years and the fond memories those times provide me with today. No regrets and no shame at all. It was all part of my evolution as a trout fisherman.
